Experience
Education has always been of deep interest to me. As a high school student, I tutored non-native-speaking primary school children to improve their English subject academic performance. While attaining my BA in Egypt, I worked with a local NGO to improve the standard of education provided – one of my favourite employment experiences, as I got to personally source educational material online and collaborate with teachers on how to enhance the students’ learning experience by digitalising it. After graduating from university, I took this talent for teaching to the next level by joining Top Choice Admissions to teach SAT classes and ensure students were qualified for the universities of their choosing. According to my supervisor, my method of teaching made me one of TCA's top tutors, as the students felt I could level with them without being condescending and enjoyed my implementation of visual aids. I have been teaching SAT prep for over a year now, and have found it to be fulfilling; given the students I teach are not native English speakers, there is an added challenge of explaining certain words and phrases that I take for granted – a challenge I enjoy very much.
